What moves you when you wake up every morning? It was through questioning this and asking the right questions that we find the way to a project, a concept or even by deconstructing ideas.<\/p>\n
The project was born. A seafood restaurant with a privileged view of the magnificent blue sea of \u200b\u200bEriceira. A space where the walls were torn out, surrounded by windows in every gap. This was when the challenge presented itself: \u201chow do we make a difference when the biggest stain is made of glass?\u201d.<\/p>\n
Until that moment, walls in our projects had been the canvas that we used to make our concepts known, and were used to make an impact. We were clearly out of our comfort zone. \u201cThere are no walls. But, there is a ceiling!\u201d A breakthrough. \u201cEureka\u201d.<\/p>\n
We began by exploring what could give inspire the concept. We had it all in front of us: vibrant colors and light. A perfect combination that would whisper a single name: Matisse.<\/p>\n
Inspired by the technique of collage with colored paper, to which Henri Matisse dedicated the last years of his life, we started exploring the patterns.<\/p>\n
A combination of seaweed shapes, present in many of his works, and organic forms, equally represented in the mythical blue that is so present in his work, we dressed the seafood restaurant and used it as what can be considered an authentic canvas.<\/p>\n
The project was created and approved. Then came the true leap of faith: for the first time, instead of contracting others to work on the walls, we decided to paint this \u201ccanvas\u201d ourselves, in collaboration with Marta @tokastudio. Fears arose, accompanied by uncertainty and doubt. A \u201cfeast\u201d that once would have made us give up. We started by tracing the walls and filling them with color. We gave them life.<\/p>\n
It took several days, in which the automations of everyday life were lost in an art forgotten in college classes. Picking up a pencil again and drawing directly on a wall, bringing color to a blank wall. These steps were necessary, with the right dose of courage and companionship. We outdid ourselves.<\/p>\n
Today we look back at this project filled with emotional value. We look at it through the eyes of someone who promises, \u201cNot to forget what makes us happy again\u201d.<\/p>\n
It is a privilege to be able to do what you like, but it’s an honor to see it leave our hands and into the hands of a satisfied costumer.<\/p>\n
