“The most well-spent minute is the one I invest in people” ¹
In 14 years of Projecto 84, there have been many Christmases we’ve gone through.
As the years pass, there were a lot of transformations and changes.
This year, among the team, the concept and its importance were talked about a lot. From, how can we evolve in techniques and knowledge. What’s the path to follow? Through our weekly meetings, when we share our image of the week, we observe that what we perceive and share has changed. The strictness from before gave way to board games, sharing recipes with the chance of tasting them, laugh, giggles and scares where we all win because we get to know a little bit more of the essence of each other.
This Christmas, the challenge was different.
We had an objective, get a tree ready, where everyone made part of it. Quickly, the team thought of the logistics. One went to get the tree, another planted it, and the last one got the most beautiful lights. We did magic, but there was something missing.
If we stop to reflect on the fact that we spend at least eight hours at work daily, teams are more than just acquaintances. It’s important to gain individual conscience to have global conscience.
In order to work on individual conscience and, as a consequence, global conscience, it was given a challenge. In fifteen wood ornaments, where we had the opportunity of giving a name to each one of them. Names that gave origin to each one of us. Starting with ourselves until the third generation of our families. To have a conscience that all of us have an origin and that in an era where harmony prevails, the latter can’t exist when we still don’t have peace, missing the ones who are gone or even our family structure. “We’re the sum of the lived stories of our ancestors.” ²
Beautiful moments where we made known who came before us.
Each of us, with our own aesthetic language, gave concept to the set of fifteen ornaments.
An activity that took us beyond the sphere of work because each of us is much more than the definition of our occupation. We allow ourselves to Be and, as a result, give place for others to Be. “We don’t Be for ourselves, that’s egotistical. We come to Be for Others and when that happens, we go beyond ourselves.” ³
“People who feel good about themselves get good outcomes.”
Every year, we have the chance to put our Christmas tree together. What do you do with this chance? The same as always? Or do you put your creativity into practice?
To reflect on:
“Think of your company as a human body, just as your familiar system; You are a cell of that human body. If a cell of that body gets sick, the whole body moves in “direction” to that cell to fight part of the “sickness”. That’s how a family works, and, by consequence, organizations/companies. We’re not an isolated part, but we’re constantly providing feedback in a functional way.” ³
